It was a blessing for parents to have Pak Dito (PDCE Team) in SDH Bangka delivering seminar entitled “Wibawa Papa, Kasih Mama”. The seminar was attended by parents from kindy to senior. Pak Dito emphasized important points about why did we become parents, why did we have kids, why did I need God? Asking the reason why was more important than asking how I should become good parents because when we found out the reason, we would know how to educate our kids in Christ.

Here are some important points from parents’ seminar:

1. The God triangle.

Parents had to be closer to God and they would be closer each other as shown from God’s triangle. From the beginning God said it is not good for man to be alone and God gave a helper suitable for Adam.

2. Genesis 1:28 said God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.” In the beginning God blessed the first family on earth, Adam and Eve. God asked them to increase in number which means to have kids. Father had to be a leader and mother had to be a good helper and supporter in family.

3. Because of sin, the role of parents had been distorted. Parents and kids were sinners. We all need God to make us realize our role as God’s bearer image and to be responsible of what God has given to us.

4. Father reflected God’s justice, mother reflected God’s love. When father and mother did their role on the right track, they reflected God’s justice and love. It was a representative of the cross where God’s justice and love met. Family had to reflect on Christ-directed life so we would realize we need God in our family.

Through this seminar, we hope parents will realize their role and direct their family to Christ-centered life. Thanks be to God for His blessing in our family.
