Assembly Christmas Celebration

Bogor Posted on 14 Dec, 2017

Sekolah Dian Harapan provides a holistic transformative Christian education for students from Kindergarten to Grade Twelve.

The Christmas theme of Sekolah Dian Harapan Bogor in 2017 is “The Greatest Gift”. Through this theme, we can realize that Christmas is not talking about grand celebrations, gifts, delicious food, new clothes, and any other things. However, Christmas is talking about the greatest gift for all mankind which is the birth of Jesus Christ. The birth of Jesus Christ is a moment in history that cannot be repeated. Through His birth, we are able to know the true source of light, because we cannot realize our existence in the dark.

This theme is also connected to the school theme which is “Precious than Gold”. Every man has his idea of what is precious in his life. Gold is considered valuable because of its high selling price. However as believers, we are sure that the birth of Jesus Christ is more precious than all the things of this world even gold and silver. Hopefully with the celebration of Christmas at Sekolah Dian Harapan Bogor, the people of the school will be grateful for the great love of Christ that is told through the birth of His one and only Son.

This theme was contemplated in the morning devotion activities in the class from December 6th – 11th, 2017. Then it was strengthened again in the Christmas Assembly Celebration which was held on December 13th, 2017. The Christmas Assembly Celebrations has included events such as teacher and student talent show, Christmas poetry from Isaiah 9:5, God’s word about “The Greatest Gift”, and poster reflection on “The Greatest Gift”. Through this Christmas Assembly Celebration, we realize that the most beautiful and greatest gift in our lives is the Lord Jesus Christ. The form of gratitude for the gift we have received is to glorify God through the talent show. Nonetheless, we also want to surrender our lives completely to God.
