LPMP Training at SDH Holland Village
On Thursday (November 15th, 2018), SDH Holland Village Manado had the pleasure of hosting a teacher training by LPMP (Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan). In this event, teachers are equipped to improve their administrative skill, specifically in preparing a lesson plan. The speakers were experienced teachers who were invited by LPMP to share what they know and to guide the participants regarding to lesson-planning.
Teachers from different schools as well as SDH high-school teachers attended this training as participants. The subjects that they teach were also quite diverse. They were therefore divided into three classes according to the subject that they teach. There were Science, Social, and Language and Arts class.
This training started with an opening session, where all of the teachers gathered in chapel for a short briefing regarding to the training. After that, every teacher was sent out to their class. In each class, they were given the opportunity to sharpen their skills in preparing for a lesson according to the national standard. By the end of the session, the participants were asked to make a lesson plan as well as to do micro-teaching in front of all the other teachers for around 10 minutes each.
This training provides the teachers with opportunity to grow in their pedagogical skills, especially lesson-planning. Besides, they also got the chance to broaden their network in the field of education. Other than that, this kind of event also helps to maintain the quality of education in Indonesia, despite of the different conditions and obstacles that the schools might be facing.
