Thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ, so that Parents-Teacher Conference (PTC) can be held well in His grace and guidance. PTC is held in the first quarter in an academic year to report the students’ progress in learning in cognitive, psychomotor, and affective. The report is written in narration to describe the students’ progress comprehensively. The report is reported by a homeroom teacher to parents in PTC to discuss the report farther. One of the purposes in PTC is there will be effective communication between parents and homeroom teacher to support the student’s learning. The next purpose is to build real strategies in educating the student to increase his/her competence for the next quarter.
This academic year, PTC was held in Junior Department (Kindergarten and Elementary) on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. To begin the PTC, all teachers, the Principal, and the CC/TT had devotion time together at 06.40 until 06.50. And then, they were getting ready in their posts. The homeroom teachers were getting ready inside the classrooms where the subject teachers helped greeting the parents and accompanying them to the classrooms. PTC was started at 07.00. Each parent had 15 minutes in meeting with the homeroom teacher. This academic year, it can be seen that there were some daddies who joined the PTC as well.
PTC was ended in varied time according to the students’ numbers in each classroom. After that, all teachers, the Principal, and the CC/TT gathered again to have reflection, evaluation, and prayer together. They thanked God for many things, especially for His guidance during the process until the PTC day. All teachers hoped that there will be follow ups after PTC between the parents and teachers to work together in supporting the students’ learning.
