Sekolah Dian Harapan provides a holistic transformative Christian education for students from Kindergarten to Grade Twelve.

SDH’s Bookweek theme this year is “His story”. The purpose of this bookweek event is to tell the work of God in Helen Keller as the choosen figure for this even. The event itself involved all SDH community including students, teachers, staff, and cleaning sevices. Activities in that event were SSR, read aloud, reading buddies, library guest, photo contest, book donation, and book fair, and the culminating activities were corner time and talkshow.

In the culminating activitiy the students dressed according to European culture. The comittee also invited parents of junior school’s to involve as a story teller for the students in the classroom. Senior school students prepared a corner and explanation in each of their classroom about Helen Keller. Junior school’s students then visited their corner to see, experience, and listen to the explanation about the work of God and His guidance in Helen Keller’s life. After that senior school’s students attended a talkshow with Pak Budi Soehardi, a former Pilot and CNN hero of the year 2009 who dedicated his life to serve others by comitting himself to build and taking care an orphanage called Roslin Orphanage in Kupang

So much meaningful lesson could be learnt from this event. The most important is that how wonderful is God’s work in every person’s life and we should be thankful for His blessing that He gave to each and everyone of us. Beside that, what God have given us is His and that’s why we should share it with others as Jesus taught us to love nd one of how we show our love is by sharing with others. We do hope that this event can be held continually so that the students can also increase their enthusiasm in reading books.
