Saturday, 20th of May, 2017. Sekolah Dian Harapan (SDH) Kupang held its third Open House. The new thing in this Open House is the education seminar "Holistic Christian Education" led by Mr. Joseph Chong, a teacher from Sekolah Pelita Harapan (SPH) Cikarang. The event started with prayer continued by communal praise and worship. There are also performances from the SDH students: dance from the junior students as well as poetry musicalization from the seniors. After that, Mr. Joseph started the seminar.

The education seminar pictures Christian education in Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan especially in SDH. The guests are explained that the education in SDH will not only focused on the students’ cognitive skills, but also on how to sharpen their talents that God had given. The school will try to find the balance of the student's cognitive skills and talents, so both can be used in tune because each student has unique talents. This is the meaning of holistic education.

The Principal of Sekolah Dian Harapan Kupang, Mr. Grefer Pollo, says that "According to our expectation, the open house haven't achieved the full target. Our target is 250 students, but it looks like it's not at that point yet". But the staff are grateful and convinced that the numbers will increase from day to day. Mr. Grefer says that no more Open House will be held for this school year, but the registration will still be open until June. Up until now, more than 100 students have already enrolled.

"I am really grateful seeing the facilities in this school, and when I interact with the teachers here, I am very impressed at how proffesional they are in education." Said Mr. Joseph Chong about his opinion while visiting SDH Kupang. He also lefts some messages both for the teachers and students. For the teachers to always love the students. For the students to always respect the teacher so that a good communication will automatically developed and to know one thing, that the teachers will always love them. He also advised the students to participate in building a supportive community.

This event got good responses from the guests. Mr. Beni Piri, one of the parents that was interviewed at that time, hopes that when his children study here, not only their cognitive can grow, but also their character.
