Christian Leadership Training for Grade 8
This year, August 29-31, the 8th graders followed Christian Leadership Training (CLT). The theme, Living for Jesus was chosen based on Galatians 2:20. CLT was aimed to nurture the leadership potential for each student. They need to set their minds with the idea that their lives is in Christ and Christ is in them.
This 3-day program is full with sessions like Day 1-Leaderships Session by Pastor David Purnomo. In this session, the students were asked to create a vision board. They imagined how to lead like Jesus. Day 2-Outbound session, the students were trained to work together, to give respect, and to exercise sportsmanship in a team by doing several outdoor activities. They experienced to lead and being led by others. Day 3- Talent Shows, the students performed a talent show to develop their talents and to know how those talents can be used to do greater work for God’s glory. Through this CLT program, the 8th graders could comprehend that to be a leader is to be a servant. A leader is not a Boss. He or she needs to serve like what Jesus did.
