Makassar is My City 2017

The recent Makassar is My City unit of grade 4 has opened our eyes that upholding the love of the city we are living in is a form of loving God. In accordance with WKA, Striving for Shalom, we had held a Culminating Activity as a form of appreciation, admiration and pride of the city of Makassar.

The recent Makassar is My City unit of grade 4 has opened our eyes that upholding the love of the city we are living in is a form of loving God. In accordance with WKA, Striving for Shalom, we had held a Culminating Activity as a form of appreciation, admiration and pride of the city of Makassar.

Makassar is My City 2017, as the title of our Culminating Activity, has been a good opportunity for the students to show talents, creativity, caring and appreciation towards Makassar city. They had learnt how to be witnesses of Christ through all the talents they have and have an impact on Makassar where they live.

Makassar is My City 2017 is enlivened by some performances such as choir performance singing Anging Mamiri and Ammaciang; Gandrang Bulo dan Mappadendang dance performances; Dayang Mulli and I Lailara drama performances as well as the Makassar traditional game demo of Tumbuk-Tumbuk Belanga and Batu Santo.

The highlight of the event was Dara and Daeng pageant of SDH Makassar 2017. 12 respective class representatives were joining the pageant. They were the chosen ones who had shown critical thinking ability to solve various problems in Makassar as well as performed a good speech related to it. Each of the Dara and Daeng 2017 pageant participants got an award certificate. The winners, Samuel Dave Efrata and Erica Evangeline Tanzil got a trophy and a sash to be worn for one week.
