Following up on the government programs through the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) – namely giving vaccines to children who are 9 months old to those under 15 years old – then on August 15 and August 28, 2018, Dian Harapan Makassar School held an MR vaccination program for K1 students up to grade 10 students who were still at under 15 years old. This MR vaccination was intended to prevent diseases caused by the measles virus and Rubella.

This vaccination was held in accordance with SDH Graduate Profile number #6 which was valuing and engaging positively with the God-given institutions of family, church and government. The government assigns the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) to be the spearhead in the MR vaccination process for students at schools. Dian Harapan Makassar was under the working area of Macini Sombala Makassar Health Center, so the vaccination process was served by a team of doctors, midwives, and nurses. The enthusiasm of parents was lively; it could be seen from the number of children who were given vaccines that was up to 556 children. Before being vaccinated, each child was checked by a doctor to determine whether or not the child was allowed to be vaccinated.

The vaccination process went well and smoothly, students were called one by one and given the immunization in an organized way. This could be done because of good cooperation between the school, Community Health Center (Puskesmas), and parents. For the future, it is hoped that similar cooperation can be developed again.

May God bless you.
